Offline alternatives are:

A professional-level relational database used by the National Moth Recording Scheme (NMRS) and Local Environmental Records Centres. There is an annual subscription. Click here to visit the ALERC website for details.
A relational database very popular with moth recorders and County Moth Recorders, including Surrey. MapMate was retired November 2024 and licences are no longer available. However, MapMate users will run on all Windows platforms (to 11) for the foreseeable future. The Lepidoptera Taxa Library is managed by Les Evans-Hill, the next update is planned for January 2026. There is a MapMate Users Facebook group for peer support.
Spreadsheets, such as Excel 365 or OpenOffice Calc, are convenient alternatives to online recording and offline relational databases. Spreadsheets are accepted in both table (one record per row) and summary formats (pivot tables).
