Vernacular: Double Square-spot

Account: Common in deciduous woodland, hedgerows and gardens throughout the British Isles, where it is far more frequent than the superficially similar Triple-spotted Clay X. ditrapezium. Larva feeds on Meadow Buttercup, Primrose, Cow Parsley and Wood Spurge.
