Account: Common on waste ground, gardens and woodland edges throughout the British Isles An easily recognised species on account of the pale coloration and dark clouding in apex of hindwing [Goater]. Larva polyphagous on various herbaceous plants, including Bramble, Thistle, Wormwood and Scabious.
