Account: Recorded infrequently through accidental importation in citrus fruit, usually oranges, from Africa Larva is an important pest of citrus and other fruits, including avocado pear and guava and maize cobs, cotton bolls, castor-oil seeds and tea seeds and It is unlikely that the species can survive outside the tropics and subtropics [Bradley].
