Account: Common in woodland edges and woodland rides throughout the British Isles Imago can be separated from several very similar Phyllonorycter species only by dissection of the genitalia, and much more frequently recorded in the larval stage, when mines are relatively easy to find where they are present. Larva mines leaves of Goat Willow, over-wintering as a pupa in a cocoon.
