Account: Nationally scarce (Nb) in damp woodland and log-piles in parts of southern England Although the species is unmistakable once known, it is a rather atypical noctuid, more resembling a geometer superficially. Larva feeds communally on bracket fungi growing on decaying logs in damp woodland.
