Vernacular: Scarce Prominent

Account: Local in long-established birch woodland, from southern England discontinuously to the Scottish Highlands Forewing with a prominent, black dorsal scale-tooth, and yellowish white costal marks at one-third and two-third (MBGBI Vol 9). Larva feeds on Silver Birch and Downy Birch, over-wintering as a pupa.
