Vernacular: Black Cloak

Account: Common in gardens and hedgerows throughout the British Isles. Readily distinguished from other Epiblema species by its yellow labial palpus and characteristic forewing pattern [Bradley]. Larva feeds on various wild and cultivated species of rose, living within a spun or rolled leaf.
