Account: Nationally scarce (Na) breeding in long-established birch and coniferous woodland in parts of eastern Scotland; also appearing as a migrant on the southern coasts of England Habitually holds its wings at rest in a closed position reminiscent of (and therefore mistakable for) Dingy Shell Euchoeca nebulata. Larva feeds on Bilberry and Cowberry.
