Vernacular: Pale Pinion

Account: Local in broad-leaved woodland and parks throughout much of England and Wales The main confusion species is Tawny Pinion L. semibrunnea, but paler and without heavy apical streaking. Larva feeds on various trees and shrubs, including Oak, Sallow, Birch, Apple, Horse-chestnut, Bramble and White Poplar.
