Vernacular: Meadow Grass-moth

Account: Common in grassland and rough meadows throughout the British Isles. The only confusion species is C. pratella, but C. lathoniellus is smaller, and the median longitudinal streak is narrower with the anterior edge straight, not angulated [Goater]. Larva feeds within roots and lower stems of various grasses.
