Account: Nationally scarce (Nb) in dry, calcareous grassland in parts of southern England, southern Wales and on the Burren in Ireland The contrasting bright rose-pink and cream-white forewing coloration is characteristic; differs from C. roseana by the lighter median fascia of the forewing and the absence of a subapical line in the cilia [Bradley]. Larva feeds within seedheads of Field Scabious, over-wintering in a cocoon.
