Vernacular: White-shouldered Marble

Account: Common in woodland, especially of birch, and heathland throughout the British Isles. The forewing pattern and contrasting comparatively clear white ground colour are characteristic [Bradley]. Larva feeds on Silver and Downy Birch, living between leaves spun together with silk.
