Account: Nationally scarce (Nb) in woodland in southern England Reliably separated from P. josephinae and P. subochreella only by dissection of the genitalia, however P. josephinae tends to appear later in the year, and P. subochreella generally has a plainer forewing and darker hindwing. Larva feeds on leaf litter and various lichens, living and feeding in a movable case.
