Vernacular: Sycamore

Account: Local in parks, gardens, woodland and scrub throughout southern England The main confusion species are Poplar Grey A. megacephala and Sweet Gale Moth A. euphorbiae, but has characteristic S-shaped subterminal band of pale grey blocks. Larva feeds on Horse-chestnut, Sycamore and Field Maple, over-wintering as a pupa.
